President's Letter
June, 2010

Wow, what a year our stage company has just completed!  With strong broad support from our community, we rebuilt our theatre from the ashes, and played on to the tune of six productions and a touring troupe of singers and dancers.  We raised more money and staged more performances than any of the previous 31 years of our company.  All this was done during a year of significant economic recession.  Our company is proof that volunteers working creatively together can defy the odds and enhance the quality of our lives.

I am very proud to serve as President of the Loveland Stage Company for the 2010-2011 year.  Our outgoing President, Pat Furterer, did a whale of a job in leading us through the past year, and continues to have a leadership role in directing or producing two of this year’s productions.  Our outgoing Treasurer, Dave Welsh, has kept our company on stable financial footing, and provided architectural oversight to the rebuilding of our theatre.  Our current board is diverse, energetic, thoughtful, talented and action-oriented.

Our 2010-2011 season is rich with new opportunities to act, sing, dance, build, manage, promote, design, operate, and create for anyone with an interest, skills and a willingness to work in a team.  I hope you will challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone and join our company.  You will be hard-pressed to find such a multi-generational, religiously diverse, politically bi-partisan group that gets so much satisfaction and pride in putting on a show.

I promise to keep our company a welcome environment for developing the creative human spirit in people of all ages.  The theatre has become a second home for my family, and there’s no reason why it can’t take on that same communal significance for all our members.  I look forward to BEING CREATIVE with you this year.
